Italy

Volunteer 15 hours each week in exchange for free room and board in Italy!
Offra volontariamente 15 ore ogni settimana in cambio di stanza libera e bordo in Italia!
The project focuses on cultural immersion so whether you stay a month or longer you will experience the day-to-day life of a Italian family, share experiences and in many cases have the opportunity to take part in family activities. Our host families are not only excited to learn English but also love to share the character of their country, culture and cuisine.
With weekends normally free you will also have time to travel and experience the many facets of Italy.
What’s Included
- A personalised placement with a host family
- Arrival orientation
- Your own private room, 3 meals per day
- In-country basic language assistance
- Professional, locally-based staff to provide orientation, supervision and guidance throughout your stay.
- Extensive medical, accident and dental insurance along with emergency evacuation insurance.
- Important documents, including in-depth pre-departure packs, orientation information, and all in-country informational materials.
- A Tutor’s Guide–Teaching English to Families and Children.
What you do
Volunteer 15 hours a week helping your host family with Conversational English. That’s it. Many Italian families want to learn English or improve their spoken English through conversation. In exchange they will provide a private room and 3 home-cooked meals each day.
Other requirements
- Create fun and informative language sessions. This could include helping with homework or playing games in English
- Keep your room tidy and clean and respect the host family’s rules.
- Manage your own personal expenses (telephone bills, clothing, entertainment and spending money).
Why do it?
- Travel for less. Save significant dollars spent on accommodation and meals
- Learn or improve the language of your choice without paying big dollars for lessons.
- Cultural immersion
- Travel and experience the culture in depth.
- Enhance your résumé – Job: “Private Language Tutor.” References: Global. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
- You “meet” your family in advance through email and phone calls. Each family is interviewed and carefully screened by in-country staff.
